About us
IDEB Singapore Chapter
A Singapore-registered non-profit society uniting Bangladeshi diploma engineers — building professional excellence, lifelong learning, and community since 2022.
Who we are
A home for Bangladeshi diploma engineers in Singapore
The Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) is the parent body of the IDEB Singapore Chapter. Founded on 8 November 1970, IDEB has spent over five decades protecting the rights, welfare, and professional development of diploma engineers across Bangladesh.
The IDEB Singapore Chapter was born from the initiative of Bangladeshi diploma engineers who live and work in Singapore. It provides a shared professional platform — one that brings together engineers of Bangladeshi origin to network, learn, support one another, and grow together.
Bangladesh's technical education sector is large and growing. It spans government polytechnics, public monotechnic and specialised institutes, and private polytechnics — all under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board. Each year, tens of thousands of graduates earn a four-year Diploma-in-Engineering, and many bring their skills to Singapore's engineering, marine, construction, and industrial sectors.
