Dear Members, Friends, and Visitors,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) – Singapore Chapter.

Since our beginnings in Singapore in 2010, we have worked tirelessly to bring Bangladeshi diploma engineers, engineering technologists, and technical professionals together on one shared professional platform.

Our members contribute to a wide range of industries through their knowledge, skills, and dedication. Their achievements are a source of pride for their families, for our professional community, and for both of our nations.

As we move forward, our priority is to build an organisation that is professional, transparent, inclusive, proactive, and forward-looking.

We want IDEB Singapore to be more than a typical professional association. Our aim is a platform where members learn from one another, build lasting professional relationships, strengthen their leadership skills, support young professionals, and give back to society.

To do this well, we must keep learning, adapt to change, and welcome innovation. Professional success matters, but so do integrity, safety, responsibility, and empathy.

I encourage every member to take part actively, share knowledge and ideas, support one another, and help the organisation grow.

We believe that genuine professionalism comes from keeping pace with a changing educational and industrial landscape. Let us rise together through stronger collaboration, while upholding our human values and social responsibilities.

Alongside our core activities, and thanks to the commitment of our volunteers, IDEB also celebrates social and cultural occasions that reflect both Bengali and Singaporean traditions.

It is a great honour to serve as President of the IDEB Singapore Chapter. My sincere thanks go to the outgoing committee, the sub-committees, and every member of IDEB; without their hard work, our goals would have remained out of reach.

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh & Warm Greetings to All,

Dear Members and Families of IDEB Singapore Chapter,

It gives me great pleasure and honour to welcome you all to our 1st Family Day 2026 and to celebrate another important milestone in our journey—the official launch of the IDEB Singapore Chapter Website.

Since our registration on 8 February 2026 with the Registrar of Societies, Ministry of Home Affairs, Singapore, IDEB Singapore Chapter has been steadily progressing towards the objectives and aspirations set by our founding members.

As our organisation continues to grow, our immediate priority is to establish a strong and sustainable foundation by focusing on several key areas:

1. Strengthening Partnerships. We aim to establish meaningful networking and collaboration with IDEB Bangladesh and the Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore, in support of our vision and objectives.
2. Industry Engagement. We will actively seek opportunities to engage with Singapore-based engineering companies, industry leaders, CEOs, and prominent Bangladeshi-Singaporean professionals in the engineering and technical sectors.
3. Professional Growth. We aim to recognise and encourage the professional development of our members by providing appropriate opportunities and special recognition for members who have progressed from diploma qualifications to higher professional qualifications or achieved significant milestones in related fields.
4. Community Contribution. As an organisation, we hope to contribute positively to our community by supporting our fellow workers in the construction, shipyard, mechanical, and related sectors, particularly those working closely with diploma engineers.
5. Policy and Workforce Collaboration. We also look forward to engaging with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and other relevant stakeholders to explore meaningful ways in which IDEB Singapore Chapter can contribute to workforce development, technical skills enhancement, workplace safety, and the well-being of our workforce.

With this vision, we aspire to build IDEB Singapore Chapter into a strong, professional, inclusive, and respected platform for diploma engineers and technical professionals in Singapore.

However, the success of our organisation will not depend on a few individuals alone. It will depend on the unity, active participation, commitment, and collective contribution of all our members and their families.

Let us continue to work together, support one another, and build an organisation that we can all be proud of.

As the Vice President of IDEB Singapore Chapter, I am committed to strengthening our professional community and creating greater opportunities for our members. I strongly believe in empowering engineers through collaboration, knowledge sharing, professional development, and continuous learning.

Dear Members, Colleagues, and Well-Wishers of IDEB Singapore Chapter,

When we first imagined an IDEB chapter here in Singapore, we were a handful of diploma engineers bonded by a shared past and a common ambition — to build something lasting for the community that raised us professionally. Today, seeing that idea take shape as a registered organisation, I feel both pride and humility.

Our chapter exists for a simple but powerful reason: to bring diploma engineers in Singapore together on one platform where we can grow, support one another, and represent our profession with dignity. Individually, each of us has a story of struggle and achievement. Collectively, we have the strength to create opportunities no single person could build alone.

I have always believed that the foundation of any meaningful organisation is trust. Trust between members, trust in leadership, and trust in the purpose we serve. When we act with honesty and put the community before ourselves, everything else — programmes, partnerships, recognition — follows naturally.

During my time as Secretary, my aim was to lay groundwork that would outlast any single term: transparent processes, clear communication, and a culture where every member feels heard. I am grateful to every colleague who contributed their time, energy, and ideas to make that possible.

Looking ahead, I see a chapter that can become a genuine bridge between Bangladesh and Singapore — connecting polytechnics, sharing technical knowledge, opening doors for internships and industry exposure, and working alongside the relevant authorities to improve the standing and welfare of diploma engineers.

To move closer to that vision, I hope the chapter will continue to prioritise:

• Regular seminars and hands-on professional workshops
• Skills upgrading and industry-relevant training programmes
• Mentorship and career guidance for newer members
• Networking events that connect members across companies and sectors
• Partnerships between Singapore polytechnics and Bangladesh polytechnics
• Engagement with the Bangladesh High Commission and Singapore authorities on member welfare

None of this is easy, and it was never meant to be. We faced setbacks — six times we tried, and six times we had to begin again. But perseverance taught us that setbacks are not the end of a journey; they are the preparation for it.

To every member, present and future: this chapter belongs to you. Your participation, your ideas, and your willingness to serve will determine how far we go. A strong organisation is never built by a few — it is built by many who choose to show up.

I step back from my role with confidence in the current committee and optimism for what lies ahead. The roots are planted. The structure is in place. What remains is the work — and that work is ours to share.

Let us stay united, keep learning, and build something the next generation of diploma engineers can inherit with pride.
